The main purpose of our trip is the Lode factory and the large clay quarry, because most people didn't really know anything about the Lode factory. What they saw surprised everyone.
How to describe the Lode production plant today - grandeur, scope, interest, quality. It seems incredible, but the small % of brick waste is ground into chamotte necessary for production or used in the preparation of clay covering of tennis courts. Nothing is thrown away! Both clay extraction and preparation, as well as production - extremely impressive!
It was extremely interesting for the ceramicists to see how clay is prepared in an exposed cone, laid out in layers, how long the road is from the clay quarry to the finished brick. It was an afternoon full of revelation for all of us, and indeed - a joy and pride that Latvia has such a production facility - the only one in the Baltics! Thanks for the great tour!
However, our first stop is Rauna's oven. For many - a pleasant, warm reunion, for many - a discovery, but everyone agrees - a fantastic place! We admire the Ciņu family for their entrepreneurship, ability to work, respect for nature, ability to organize and maintain such a tidy and beautiful environment.

The sweet dish of our trip - Imanta The accompanying exhibition APPASSIONE TEMPO at the Cēsi Exhibition House. It's one thing to see an exhibition in your own room, it's quite another to do it together with the author. Especially when the author is such a great storyteller. Thanks to Imantas for the opportunity to conjure up his appassione in his imagination, to see both in ceramics and in wonderful photographs what the artist himself sees. In the Rome exhibition hall in Liepāja, the work had one sound, in Cēsis completely new notes were revealed. We are waiting for the exhibition in Jelgava.
However, no trip to LKA is complete without at least a small detour in nature. This time on the way Raunas Staburags and Liela Ellīte.
